Text Box: FJ Trooper—Russian Front

The FJ Trooper on the Russian Front was used much like everywhere else, a quick reaction gap filler for breaks in the line or other critical points.

FJ Trooper Russian Front

· A much larger mix of equipment

· Often mixed with LW Field Divisions to provide experience

· More motorized than Heer Infantry Divisions

· Additional use of Mortar Battalions

These FJ Troopers are sporting a mix of equipment and uniforms that was typical of the Eastern Front. Much less standardization, long supply lines, and longer periods in combat tended to run equipment down more. In addition, much use was made of captured Russian equipment, in particular Russian SMGs and Field Pieces to supplement the light Paratrooper fire power.
