The Green Devils...

Text Box: Tribute to a Real Hero

When FRJ.2 was founded, one of the awards created for its members was one for saving the life of a fellow reenactor. It never occurred to the commander that he would ever have to give out that award. In June 2007, while at a reenactment, one member of the unit had the ledge he was on give way, causing him to fall over 60 feet (10meters) to the river below.  Without hesitation, Jager “Mutti” Pelletier, scrambled down the cliff to administer first aid. The injured Jager had to be life flighted out to a distant critical care center. For his actions, Jager Pelletier was awarded the Knights Cross. An award does not truly honor this brave Canadian Army veteran, who’s only thought was to help a fellow reenactor and friend.

Never thought is would happen...

(Notice the helmet, it had much to do with the Jager’s survival from the fall)

The Award of the Knights Cross will never suffice for his deed.
